I kept hearing this book being referenced in other books I've read and decided to read it. I think it gives some good insight on the origin of the black middle class and its characteristics and mind frame. I wouldn't necessarily say that this was the most exciting book I've read but I think you can make a lot of similarities from the 1940s to modern times. Nevertheless if you're interested in reading more in depth about black history then this will benefit you.

This book was referred to me by a friend. I must say, my blinders are off and now I see. This book is an excellent read for people who think they know and those who wants to be in the know. I enjoyed the book and will definitely pass on the knowledge.!
